In today's fast-paced world, the quest for longevity is no longer just about adding years to life but adding life to years. At HealthSpan11, we believe that true wellness encompasses not only physical health but also mental clarity, emotional balance, and a sense of purpose. Our mission is to empower individuals to take control of their health journey, ensuring that their extended years are vibrant and fulfilling.
The field of health and wellness is ever-evolving. We stay abreast of the latest research and innovations, ensuring that our recommendations are grounded in science and best practices.
It is important to note that Coaching is 20% information and
80% transformation.
The Pillars of HealthSpan11
Nutrition: Recognizing that each individual is unique, we help you figure out what foods work for you. By understanding one's genetic makeup, lifestyle, and metabolic profile, we can recommend foods that optimize energy levels, support immune function, and promote overall well-being.
Movement: Physical activity is more than just a means to maintain weight; it's a cornerstone of healthy aging. Our approach integrates strength training, cardiovascular exercises, as well as zone 2 activities.
Mental and Emotional Well-being: Mental health is integral to overall health. We provide resources and support systems that address stress management, emotional resilience, and cognitive function. Techniques such as meditation, breath work, therapy, and community engagement play a pivotal role in emotional health. Listening to music, being in nature and creating art, are all enhancers of mental well being.
Social Connections: Never underestimate the power of having strong social connections. As per the famous Harvard Study of Adult Development (see Robert Waldinger's TED talk in 2015), "good relationships keep us happier and healthier, period". People with warm, meaningful connections are healthier and live longer regardless of wealth and fame. This is evident in many Blue Zones around the world.
Sleep. A groundbreaking 2013 study published in Science revealed that our brains' cleansing process is 10x more active during sleep than when we are awake. Simply said, lack of sleep impairs the cleansing process increasing the risk for cognitive decline. At HealthSpan11 we start with addressing sleep if the client has consistently less than 6 hours sleep each night. Not only does sleep protect against Alzheimer's and cognitive decline but it also lowers the risk of heart disease and stroke as well as improving your immune system.
